RE-UPLOAD: The Sisters of Mercy - NEC, Birmingham, UK - 22.12.1993 (Flac)

An upgrade to Flac of one of my favorite concerts. HUGE Thanks to DrG for sending me this version to share here, and of course to the original poster on Dime,  gimmetruth.

DrG Notes:  Corrected track 6 mislabeled "Destination...", removed MD5 in favor of FFP from FLAC Frontend.  Shared at Heartland with good grace of gimmetruth!

NOTE FOR DARK CIRLCE ROOM POST: Some bootlegs sound like they were recorded in a tin can, some like they were dropped in a bucket of water. I listen to all my music through Winamp with *flat* EQ. However, with most *iffy* sounding bootlegs, chances are that EQing can help. That is how I remaster some recordings for CD (to play in a car and such). At home, I use Winamp's EQ to make a tinny bootleg have more bass, and a bassy boot have more treble. Try it... experiment. I can send you a screen shot for the preset I made for this TSOM recording if you need... I love it! It's twice as loud and adds punch!!!

Lauren launches this year's 6 Music Live, at the BBC's Maida Vale studios, with Morrissey.

Morrissey recorded four Maida Vale Sessions for John Peel alone, when he was with The Smiths, and then went on to forge a successful solo career with his debut solo album in 1988.
All ten of his solo efforts landed in the Top 10 on the UK album charts, including three entries at Number One. This November he releases Low in High-School, his first studio album since 2014.

RE-UPLOAD: Love Like Blood - Wave Gothic Treffen, Agra Stage, Leipzig - 09.06.2011 (Flac)

And the last post for today, thanks to Northern Nephilim for this flood of WGT 2011 recordings!

information:
Germany´s number one Goth Rock act is doing some gigs this year, the gig on the WGT was called as the really last gig of them but it looks like it´s a little reunion tour after so many years. They put a really superb sound at the problematic Agra stage, only female background voice went distorted on first song. A really great concert and one of the highlights of this year´s WGT.

RE-UPLOAD: The Vaynes - The Gathering Hall, Portree, Isle Of Skye, Scotland, UK - 18.08.1989 (Flac)

From now on the Mish posts of the Highland Tour, will be coupled with the recordings of the support band, The Vaynes. Thanks to Egg_Cris for another master.

Tape flip before the last song.
The Vaynes were support for the whole tour but for some reason I didn't tape them at Elgin & Stornoway (and I wasn't at the Dundee gig).

03 T.V. Man
04 Mr. Fixit
05 A Man Possessed

Supporting the Mission.

Cassette(Audience,Master,TDK D90,recorded on Saisho PS 35R with built-in mic) > wav > Soundforge(normalise uneven L&R channels) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)
Taping position: front row.

This one fit perfectly on one side of a tape.  I didn't stop the tape at the end, I just let it run out which it did about 20 seconds after the final song ended.

02 Rock N Roll Crime

RE-UPLOAD: The Vaynes - Town Hall, Dingwall, Scotland, UK - 21.08.1989 (Flac)

Continuing with the Mish Highlands Tour from 1989, again with The Vaynes as a support act. Thanks to Egg_Crisis for another great share.

Cassette(Audience,Master,TDK D90,recorded on Saisho PS 35R with built-in mic) > wav > Soundforge(normalise uneven L&R channels) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)
Taping position: front row.
The gig was supposed to be at a venue called Legend's but at the time I was told it "hadn't been built yet."
They didn't bother with the intro tape for this gig.  "Big Cities" and "Helta Skelta Time" were also on the setlist but they cut their set short and then came back with a surprise encore of "Cinderella".  The reason for cutting the set short would have been because there'd been complaints about the sound during the Mission's soundcheck, and The Mission only played for 70 minutes with no encore - the reason I was told was that the police told them to stop because of the noise.  I think probably before The Vaynes even went on they'd have been told they were only allowed to play until a certain time (10pm or 10:30 seems likely, but I can't remember) so both bands had to cut their sets short.

Setlist:

01 Rock N Roll Crime
02 T.V. Man
03 Mr. Fixit
04 A Man Possessed
05 Violent Dream
06 Lick The Dirt

RE-UPLOAD: The Vaynes - Ritzys, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK - 22.08.1989 (Flac)

Again Thanks to Egg_Crisis for sharing another master. The band was supporting the Mish on the Highland Tour.

Cassette(Audience,Master,TDK D90,recorded on Saisho PS 35R with built-in mic) > wav > Soundforge(normalise uneven L&R channels) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)
Taping position: fairly near the stage for the first half, sitting down for the 2nd half.

There was no intro tape and the start caught my by surprise but I managed to start recording as the first song is introduced.  The stop button got knocked during T.V. Man as I was moving closer to the front, so a couple of seconds were missed there.
Before Big Cities you can hear someone say "...going to sleep, I'll wake you up when they...".  I was so tired after 9 days travelling around Scotland (and not getting enough sleep) that I was falling asleep!

Setlist:

01 Rock N Roll Crime
02 T.V. Man
03 Mr. Fixit
04 Violent Dream
05 Lick The Dirt
06 Pretty Girl

Very good FM broadcast. Thanks to LDB for sharing.

LDB Vintage Series #044

Hi there! After closing both my Master and Special series I took a break from seeding, enjoying life and most of all
preparing for a new series! This is not going to be as frequent as my previous ones, I'll be seeding shows from time
to time so don't expect massive volumes here.

Why a "vintage" series? Because music in the 70's and 80's was really something...so different, so special with "that" kind
of sound which you don't find anymore. That was the era of real music without the internet, of long tours and enjoyable live
shows spanning from metal to new wave, progressive, jazz, fusion, pop. So many bands were born and disappeared during those
two decades.

I am then celebrating the 70's and the 80's and their unmistakeable sound in this LDB Vintage Series. You will find many bands
I have never seeded in the past but that I still enjoy listening to. Most of these come from low generation tapes that were traded
around that period, many radio broadcasts and overall lots of surprises.

Hope you will enjoy this new series!

Setlist:

01.Into You Like A Train
02.Soap Commercial
03.She Is Mine
04.Mr. Jones
05.So Run Down
06.Dumb Waiters
07.Pretty In Pink
08.It Goes On
09.Sister Europe
10.Imitation of Christ
11.All of This and Nothing
12.India
13.Pulse
14.We Love You

Tim Butler - bass
Duncan Kilburn - saxophone
Vince Ely - drums
Roger Morris - guitars
John Ashton - guitars

Why aren't there more vintage Psychedelic Furs shows??? I hope I can start a mini-flood of this underrated band with this show and...no this
is not the Roslyn 1982 show that widly circulates but a much rarer one from the previous year. Sound is fair, radio station confirmed to be
WLIR. I am aware there is a version sourced from the master circulating....

23 Time - Sydney 4Nov87
24 I Wanna Be Your Dog - Sydney 4Nov87
25 White Light / White Heat - Sydney 4Nov87

This is from a CD-R set I have, compiled from three shows - Ottawa 28th August 1987, Sydney 3rd November 1987, and Sydney 4th November 1987

Loving The Alien is particulary good here - nice flute at start + echo on Bowie's voice. Never Let Me Down and Big Brother seem worthy of mention too as standouts here too.

There is a sign of a little disc rot here and there - most noticeably as Modern Love starts.

But it's a good compilation, and the 4th November 87 tracks seem harder to find - from what I've seen - than the rest here.

If this is for you - enjoy.

RE-UPLOAD: The Lords Of The New Church - The Marquee, London, UK - 27.01.1984 (Flac)

Thanks to Steve for sharing this capture on the now extincted CCC forum.

**AUDIO ONLY**

Originally broadcast on a UK TV program called Cue The Music (forget which channel, but I suspect 4).

VHS>HDD as WAV>conversion to FLAC level 5 with Xact>You

Another I recorded from the telly one night.
I did blackle for the program, as the presenter was a total dick, but turned up no results.
I cut out all his inane, patronising drivel & commercial breaks & competition spots.
Being a TV broadcast, the set's not complete &, unfortunately, Partner In Crime cuts in quite sharply & the very End of Holy War is lost. Otherwise it's a SBD show.

1. New church
2. Eat your heart out
3. Livin on lovin
4. Dance with me
5. Johnny too bad
6. Russian roulette
7. Bad timing
8. Live for today
9. Partner in crime (cuts in)
10.Goin' Downtown
11.You really got me
12.Little boys play with dolls
13.Holy war (slight cut at end)

Please don't share it in lossy formats, but feel free to share as is & with this txt file included, Thanks.

Enjoy.

Cheers.

On this day my recorder froze after Danse Society and won't access the memory card so i decided to use a backup solution to not finally crash the files on the Tascam.
I recorded the Vendemmian gig with the Panasonic Lumix DMC - ZS3, the US model of the DMC - TZ5 with the difference it records until the card is full and has no 30 minutes limit. The file split is lossless on 4 GB mark.
You can see the videos here:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS4AClrsvDk
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR7ChF1Kptk

Based it's being as a point and shoot camera, the video and audio quality is really fantastic, i stood around 2 meters away from center stack in front of stage, so only sometimes the bassdrum parts a bit distorted but still amazing how much SPL the camera's internal mics can take. The atmosphere in that location was fantastic in the audience and for the band too. I also highly recommend the CONNStanze if you want to take a meal on WGT, everything tastes fantastic there and reasonably priced.

The Cure - Estadio Universitario, Monterrey, Mexico - 16.06.1992 (Flac)

Thanks to the original uploader.

SBD: FM -> CD-R Trade (unknown gen) -> EAC (see logs) -> FLAC(8)

Notes: Excellent FM broadcast from Energy 99 in Monterrey.  The only problem is that they
are extremely aggressive in reminding the listeners what they're listening to, so the
logo phrase pops right up in the middle of some songs, sometimes more than once per track.
Other than that, a great show; Robert seems to really be enjoying himself between tracks
(despite dodging crazed fan's objects of flight).  Pitch may be just a bit slower than it
should be.

Notes :

Play it loud, it's like having the band in your room!!!!!

It seems that gig wasn't well attended and it sounds more like a soundcheck (with a small audience and many many many mistakes) than a real gig!
I don't even know if the band left the stage for the encores as there is no break between Pornography and The hanging garden!
The sound becomes really clear and nearly excellent after The drowning man ! A brilliant recording for a weird gig! You can hear how much the band needed to practice!
First time for Lament... this song is killing me!

Special thanx to St. Do. who actually made some great recordings!

Performance / Recording Notes:

David J returns to Los Angeles in support of his latest double album, Vagabond Songs. The album fittingly chronicles the time that he has spent on the road over the last year or so. Even at 60 now, J relentlessly tours the world playing well over 150 shows a year. I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Haskins' work ethic and his dedication to his art form and fans. He is arguably the most affible and accessible member of Bauhaus / Love and Rockets. He can usually be found after each show chatting up his fans, signing covers at the bar or while loading his gear. This night was no exception. While other bands and artists are charging increasingly higher and higher amounts for fifteen minute "meet and greets", David J will come to YOUR HOUSE and play an hour long acoustic set in your living room for a nominal fee. In return you can sell tickets publicly or privately to the event to cover the expense.

Tonight's performance was held in a small trendy bar in Thai Town (East Hollywood). The show was FREE. According to the set list, J was slated to play 14 songs. Due to time constraints it appears that his set was cut short to just under an hour. The Love and Rockets' classics "Rain Bird" and "Holiday on the Moon" were cut as well as the seminal "Bela" and a track titled "Anthem". We did get a Rockets heavy set of five of the ten songs played tonight. David was accompanied by his manager/bassist, Darwin Meiners and Michael Berg on piano. There was a theme of protest throughout the night's performance that was sadly lost on most of the bar's patrons that were intent on chatting and hooking up. The background chatter is very prominent for the first 3 songs until the "sound guy/DJ" chose to turn up the levels (VG-). As the show progresses, the chatter diminishes to a respectable level (EX-). For this reason, I chose to record some six feet away from the right speaker (furthest from the bar).  David's vocals are very clear and the instrumentation is fairly well balanced. The backing instrumentation tracks that Darwin played from his Mac were jarringly loud at times. Also, we get an impromptu Ziggy infused intro to "The Day David Bowie Died" as J tries to sort out his cables and pedals. David elected to play a nylon string classical guitar for the majority of the evening. It gave the performance a very down to earth, folksy feel. Overall, a great performance. I had only wished that he had played longer. Apparently he had to clear the stage for the house band to play some covers for a stripper / burlesque dancer. Oh well!

Highlights:

"Who Killed Mr. Moonlight" in all of its Vaudevillian glory, the Love and Rockets gem "Be The Revolution" from the oft-overlooked "Hot Trip To Heaven" and the plaintive plea of "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven"! It was like AM/PM! Too much good stuff!

Please support the artist by purchasing his latest album Vagabond Songs or by having him come to your house to play!...

Enjoy.
Peace,
mixter_
